HOW IT WORKS
Prepare, try, reflect
Each practice is a chance to make a situation feel more manageable, strengthen a working relationship or build confidence in your contribution. Prepare, try and reflect, then use what you learn the next time. Repeating this cycle helps embed the agreed behaviours and build skills for the opportunities ahead.
1. Describe the situation
Start with what is actually going on for you, in your own words. Between's companion asks questions to understand it properly before suggesting anything.
2. Find the behaviour
Between picks up on the behaviour you are practising from the conversation, drawing on the behaviours the group agreed in its coaching contract. You can always choose or change it yourself, up to three per practice, though one is usually enough.
3. Shape one small action
Near the end of the conversation, Between helps you shape a single small action you can try before your next session. You can also rehearse the conversation to find an approach you feel ready to use.
4. Try it, then reflect
Take the action into your week. Come back to notice what helped, decide what to adjust and choose what to practise next.
5. Help the team learn
Every reflection you save contributes to automatic theme analysis. The app identifies learning patterns and checks them before publishing combined themes for the next coaching session. Each theme needs at least three different saved reflections supporting the same learning pattern across the whole pilot. These can come from the same participant. Coaches cannot read your individual words. You can leave without saving a reflection.
